Milan Fashion week was established in 1958, is part of the global "big four fashion weeks", others being in Paris, London, and New York.
1970's
Gianni Versace, launched his first clothing line in 1978, today we know it as Versace.
Present Day
As of today, Milan is especially renowned for its role within the ready-to-wear category of fashion.
"ready-to-wear clothing"- is intended to be worn without significant alteration, because clothing made to standard sizes fits most people. They use standard patterns, factory equipment, and faster construction techniques to keep costs low.
